Exclusively designed for AALUNA 100% handweaved by Wayuu artisans from North Colombia

The Escama pattern draws its soul from the sea.

Meet the Escama – AALUNA's elegant tribute to the sea. Derived from "fish scale" in Spanish, Escama celebrates the Wayuu people's connection to the ocean. Its exclusive design comes alive in a warm terracotta, inspired by popular navy and beige tones. The intricate weaving reflects the artisan's creativity, making each bag truly unique.

Handcrafted with care and heritage

Every Escama bag features meticulous weaving, paying homage to Wayuu culture. It's 100% handmade and showcases an original woven base. High-quality acrylic fibers ensure this durable, lightweight bag remains easy to maintain while supporting ethical craftsmanship.

Comfort meets versatility

Designed for style and practicality, the Escama bag includes a long adjustable strap for versatile wear as a crossbody or shoulder bag. It also has a handwoven interior pocket to keep essentials secure, adding convenience without compromising on elegance.

Designed for AALUNA

Each piece in this collection is exclusively designed for AALUNA and handwoven with love and attention by master artisans from the Wayuu tribe of la Guajira, Colombia.
These artisans weave each bag or mochila, in a single seamless piece, using traditional weaving and crochet techniques. Therefore, there may be slight variations in size from piece to piece.
By purchasing a handmade bag from this collection, you support an ethical business model that promotes South American artistic craftsmanship and preserves ancestral know-how.
On behalf of AALUNA and the Wayuu artisans who work with us, thank you for your purchase.
