Exclusively designed for AALUNA 100% handweaved by Wayuu artisans from North Colombia

Inspired by sea and tradition

The Escama pattern draws its soul from the sea, inspired by the fishing culture of the Wayuu people of La Guajira. Each interlocking scale carries a story of resilience and tides, passed down through generations of master weavers. This elegant wayuu bag is a unique piece woven entirely by hand.

A unique weaving technique

Using the single-thread technique, artisans create each Escama bag over 3 to 4 weeks, imbuing it with timeless craftsmanship. Every creation includes the artisan's personal signature woven into its base. Such exclusive design means that no two Escama bags are identical, making them true collector's items.

Designed for AALUNA

Each piece in this collection is exclusively designed for AALUNA and handwoven with love and attention by master artisans from the Wayuu tribe of la Guajira, Colombia.
These artisans weave each bag or mochila, in a single seamless piece, using traditional weaving and crochet techniques. Therefore, there may be slight variations in size from piece to piece.
By purchasing a handmade bag from this collection, you support an ethical business model that promotes South American artistic craftsmanship and preserves ancestral know-how.
On behalf of AALUNA and the Wayuu artisans who work with us, thank you for your purchase.
