Exclusively designed for AALUNA 100% handweaved by Wayuu artisans from North Colombia

The Escama pattern draws its soul from the sea.

The Escama bag represents a fusion of ocean and earth, inspired by the traditions of the Wayuu people who have skillfully navigated for generations. Woven in La Guajira, this exceptional bag features an exclusive designed chevron pattern resembling scales in motion.

A refined design

This bag's exclusive design demands high precision in its crafting. Employing a single-thread technique, our master Wayuu artisans devote 3 to 4 weeks of effort per piece, demonstrating a commitment to enduring quality. With limited numbers available, every bag is distinguished by the artisan's individual touch woven into the base: a subtle and impactful testament to its authentic origin.

Practical elegance for versatile use

Escama merges style and utility. Its Navy & Linen color palette was created internally to complement any setting—from vibrant coastal scenes to urban streetscapes. Featuring an adjustable strap and interior pocket, this durable accessory adapts effortlessly to your lifestyle, offering practicality without compromising its elegant allure.

Each bag bears the artisan's own design woven into its base. A quiet proof of origin.

Designed for AALUNA

Each piece in this collection is exclusively designed for AALUNA and handwoven with love and attention by master artisans from the Wayuu tribe of la Guajira, Colombia.
These artisans weave each bag or mochila, in a single seamless piece, using traditional weaving and crochet techniques. Therefore, there may be slight variations in size from piece to piece.
By purchasing a handmade bag from this collection, you support an ethical business model that promotes South American artistic craftsmanship and preserves ancestral know-how.
On behalf of AALUNA and the Wayuu artisans who work with us, thank you for your purchase.
