My perspective shifted dramatically during three years of introducing French heritage to the Japanese market. Through the discerning eyes of Japanese connoisseurs, I learned to see products differently. They do not just buy objects; they seek perfection, craftsmanship, and an quiet authenticity that often goes unnoticed in the West. This culture of detail taught me that a product is only as beautiful as the story and the skill behind it. They taught me to look for the soul in the stitch.
A Heritage Rediscovered
In this search for a more meaningful career, I returned to a tradition from my own childhood: Wayuu weaving. I looked at these ancestral techniques with fresh eyes, seeing beyond the object to the incredible resilience and delicacy of the craft. I realized that this heritage—rich in history and human touch—perfectly aligned with the high expectations of the craftsmanship I had come to admire in Japan. It was a bridge between my past and my professional future.
